KNOX Council has spent just $200 on Christmas decorations this year – for two banners that will hang from flag poles outside its offices. One councillor told last Tuesday’s council meeting it was “shameful” that the city did not even have a nativity scene to celebrate the occasion.

Cr Joe Cossari said it was an offence to him as a Christian and “to all of the world” not to put a nativity scene in front of the council’s building in Wantirna South. “I am totally disappointed in our municipality on not having a nativity scene or anything about Christmas in front of the council chambers,” he said
